A spreader bar removes “close your legs” from the available options, which can be very handy when your partner keeps pretending they need choices.
The Sportsheets Edge bar adjusts from 28.5 to 37 inches, or approximately 72.4 to 94 cm. Clips at both ends connect to compatible cuffs while a third centre clip creates another attachment point. The black anodised aluminium bar separates into three sections for storage, then uses index holes to help you rebuild the chosen width.
Cuffs are not listed or pictured as included
The Shopify source describes the adjustable bar and its three clips. The seven product images show no wrist or ankle cuffs, so you need compatible cuffs with suitable attachment rings to restrain a person.
Check your cuffs fit the clips before the scene. Discovering the rings are too thick while your partner lies waiting with legs open is an impressively frustrating form of foreplay.
Choose a width from 72 to 94 cm
Set the spreader bar anywhere within its listed 28.5 to 37 inch range. A narrower position can feel easier on the hips and shoulders, while a wider setting creates a more exposed stance.
Start narrow, especially with a new partner or new position. “Adjustable” is an invitation to find the right width, not a challenge to use the widest hole because it looks more hardcore.
Assemble the three aluminium sections
The bar comes apart into three sections for compact storage. Align the pieces using the index holes shown along the centre section, then secure the assembly according to the supplied instructions.
Pull gently at both ends before attaching anyone. The bar should feel properly assembled, not like it may divide itself halfway through a particularly enthusiastic wriggle.
Clip ankle cuffs to both ends
Attach one compatible ankle cuff to each end clip and place the wearer on their back. The rigid bar keeps the ankles separated without requiring a partner to hold the legs apart.
That leaves hands free for a vibrator, dildo, oral or simply running fingers down the exposed inner thighs while the wearer watches and waits.
Use the bar while they kneel
Connect ankle cuffs and ask the wearer to kneel with the bar behind their legs or beneath their body, using pillows where needed. Keep the width within a comfortable hip and knee range.
The bar makes it difficult to bring the legs together, which is wonderfully inconvenient when somebody is trying to squirm away from a tongue doing excellent work.
Try it between wrist cuffs
The end clips can also connect compatible wrist cuffs when you want the hands held apart. Use the bar across the front of the body or in another supported position that does not strain the shoulders.
Keep the arms within the wearer's comfortable range and never use the bar to support body weight. It spreads limbs; it does not turn your partner into a pull-up station.
Use the centre clip for another restraint point
A third clip sits at the centre of the bar. Connect it only to a compatible restraint or anchor used within the manufacturer's guidance.
The centre point can help control where the bar sits during a supported scene, but the listing provides no load rating. Keep the wearer supported and avoid suspension or hard pulling.
Make the exposed position the fantasy
Once the ankles are cuffed apart, pause and let the wearer feel how open the position is. Stand between their legs, inspect them slowly and tell them exactly what will happen next.
Then change your mind and do something else first. Bugger me, anticipation becomes very persuasive when closing your legs is no longer available.
Check hips, knees, wrists and circulation
Watch for joint strain, cramping, numbness, tingling, coldness, swelling or concerning colour changes. Narrow the bar or release the cuffs immediately if any appear.
Never leave a restrained person alone. Keep every clip accessible, agree on a clear stop signal and practise opening the setup before anyone is attached.
Take it apart for storage
After play, remove the cuffs, wipe and dry the anodised aluminium and clips according to the supplied care guidance, then separate the three sections.
Store all pieces together so the next scene does not begin with two ends, no centre and an increasingly suspicious search beneath the bed.
