Cuffs, control and a little mischief

Spreader Bars

Spreader bars give restraint play a more structured shape. Compare fixed and adjustable designs, with cuffs included on some models and sold separately on others.

Spreader Bars: Get Your Kit Together

Before admiring the finish, find out whether the cuffs are coming too.

The empty ends tell a story

Some bars arrive ready to join the rest of your kit. Others are waiting for cuffs you choose separately. Neither is a better bargain until you know what is included. Start there, then decide whether an adjustable length is useful for your plans or a fixed bar suits you just fine. Bedroom shopping should not require an emergency second order.

Keep the shopping simple

All together now?

A cuff set is convenient if you are starting from scratch. A bar on its own may suit existing gear. Compare the contents, not just the price beneath the photo.

One length or a few options?

Adjustable bars offer a stated range; fixed bars keep one length. Choose within the maker’s intended uses and your comfort. Wider is not an achievement badge.

Where will it sleep?

Some bars break down for storage, while others need their full length in the cupboard. Check the construction before promising it the tiny bedside drawer.

Spreader Bars: your questions

Are cuffs always included?

No. Several bars in this range are sold without cuffs. The individual contents list is the deciding source.

Can I swap the cuffs?

Only if the bar and cuffs use compatible attachments and the manufacturer permits the combination.

Does adjustable mean it fits everyone?

No. Adjustment has limits. Compare the stated range and the cuff fit information with your needs.

Is a spreader bar also a suspension bar?

Do not assume so. A restraint bar must not be used to support body weight unless the manufacturer explicitly approves that use.
