Cuffs, control and a little mischief

Spreader Bars

Spreader bars bring a deliciously bossy edge to bondage, keeping wrists or ankles apart with a partner’s enthusiastic cooperation. Find fixed and adjustable styles, with cuff sets or bars for the gear you already own.

FEET APART. ATTENTION UNDIVIDED.

Spreader Bars: Crossed Legs Can Wait

Suddenly β€œstay right there” has rather more convincing backup.

The bar is only half the fun

A partner in cuffs can still have plenty of opinions. Give those cuffs a bar between them and the possibilities become rather more interesting. Some designs are made for wrists, others for ankles, and certain models allow either. Think about the kind of agreed restraint you both fancy: hands held apart, legs kept open, or a little more structure in a favourite scene. The equipment helps hold the position. Your imagination can handle the rest.

How bossy is your shopping list?

A little space, or a little more?

Adjustable bars let you choose within their stated range. Fixed bars keep things at one length. Go for a position that feels comfortable, rather than the widest one available. This is bondage, not an audition for the splits.

Cuffs with your order?

A set can save a separate shopping trip. A bar on its own lets you use suitable cuffs you already like. The Kinklab adjustable bar is supplied without cuffs, while the Sex & Mischief metal-cuff model brings its own. Read what is included before appointing your new bar head of bedroom operations.

Padded, polished or a bit fancy?

The Sinful Soft Spreader Bar comes with padded cuffs; metal-cuff designs give a different feel and look. Lace-etched bars add a little dressing-up of their own. Choose the style that makes you both want to play, then check that separate cuffs attach to it as intended.

Spreader Bars: your questions

Will a bar fit in a small bag?

Some will come apart. Kinklab’s adjustable model breaks into three pieces, and the EDGE adjustable bar also separates for storage. Check the specific design before planning a discreet weekend away.

Can I buy cuffs separately?

Yes, for bars designed for separate cuffs. Match their attachments to the bar’s stated requirements. Similar-looking clips are not a compatibility guarantee.

Can I use any bar for wrists and ankles?

Check the model’s intended uses. Some listings describe both; others are sold for a particular position or cuff arrangement.

Can a spreader bar hold someone’s weight?

Only if the manufacturer explicitly approves that purpose. A bar for keeping limbs apart is not automatically suspension equipment.
